WEEK 3 - PTP

This week's PTP comes from our good friend big D from the NW (no not me) who wants us to pay close attention to the performance of the high profile QBs who have been thrust into the spotlight due to the unfortunate injuries of their superstar counterparts:

Which backup QB (Brandon Weeden from DAL or Jimmy Clausen from CHI) will perform better with respect to TD/INT ratio?

b. Clausen (2 pts)

c. Neither will have a TD (3 pts)

UPDATE: Brandon Weeden threw for 0 TD amd 1 INT, while Jimmy Clausen threw 0 TD and 1 INT.  The correct selection for this week's PTP is c.

WEEK 2 - THOUGHTS

what the hell happened last week? there were a total of 8 upsets last week and i cannot remember a week where the football was so bad.  even the defending champ chimed in - referring to the similarities of what was presented in week 2 like something out of the CFL playoffs. as i said before it's a long season, but if we see more weeks like that i'm sure many of us will lose our minds....everyone except our new leader....congrats lieutenant yee!

just to give you an idea of how crazy a week it actually was, only 2 people won sports select pools, getting 14 of the 15 eligible games correct, winning a whopping $128k each. that's insane considering that the winner of pools typically has to get all the games correct.

all of our early division winners have been selected and it looks like we all agree that the patriots and the packers will win their respective division when all is said and done.  i do have a feeling that many of our selections will change after week 9, when the mid-season selections are due.

WEEK 2 - PTP

From the current leader:

okay fellas, i'm not used to being the early leader and definitely not creative enough to think of a great PTP question without seeing what you knuckleheads come up with first.  but here is what I came up with...

watching the game last night I witnessed jamaal charles (who is described as perhaps the best back in the game right now) run with his hair bouncing behind him for a decent 125 yards. for the remainder of week 2 (including the monday night game) how many backs will rush for more than Caitlyn - I mean Mr. Charles

a. 0 backs (1 pt)
b. 1-3 backs (2 pts)
c. 4+ backs (3 pts)

UPDATE: AP was the only back in week 2 to exceed the 125 yard mark.  His 134 yards helped the vikings earn their first victory of the season against the detroit lions.  This week's correct answer for the PTP is b.

WEEK 1 - PTP

From the reigning, defending, undisputed current champion:

It is an honor (note the US spelling) to be able to provide you with this year's first rendition of PTP. It's a privilege I don't take lightly.

One thing that may have gone unnoticed in the excitement leading up to this NFL season is the revision to the PAT (the Point After Touchdown). The kick has been moved back, making it equivalent to a 33 yd field goal. This is not a gimme anymore, especially in adverse weather conditions. This may be nothing for Matt Bryant, but for pussies like Dan Carpenter who has openly complained about the change, this may lead to a number of unconverted touchdowns.

So the inaugural PTP is: How many PATs will be missed this Sunday?

a. 0-4 (1 pt)
b. 4-8 (2 pts)
c. 9+ (3 pts)

UPDATE: Kickers went 71 for 75 on PATs on Sunday, meaning 4 PATs were missed.  Because there wasn't a clear delineation of where 4 misses lie within the three options (my fault), I will award 2 PTPs for anyone who chose a or b.
