How does it all work? And how can I earn the honor of winning the most prestigious prize in all of sports?
1. A selection sheet will be issued every week to each and every one of you. On the sheet are all the respective games along with who has been chosen as the favorite or underdog for each game, based on lines supplied by football locks.
2. Your job is to pick a winner for each game - just an outright winner, no point spread or anything like that. After week 1 and after week 9, I will send out early season and mid-season division winner selections which will account for additional points in the points earned category at the conclusion of the regular season.
3. Points are awarded based on if your selection was correct and if your selection was an underdog (2 pts) or a favorite (1pt). Your overall selections for the week will also give you a carefully calculated winning percentage.
4. You will then be given ranking points based on your standings in the cumulative winning percentage category and the cumulative points earned category. It is these ranking points which will determine your overall current standing in the NFL pool.
5. Every week, the winner of the previous week (based on points earned alone) will select a BBB (Bill Belichick Bonus) that will be unique only for that week. It can be about anything but the selection must have three decisive, non-overlapping answers which can be assigned a point value of 1, 2 or 3. These points will be awarded and added to the points earned category for the respective week.
6. If there is more than one winner of a week, the tie breaker will be first based on winning percentage of that respective week and if a tie still exists, it will go to the individual who has a higher overall current standing in the NFL pool.
7. The BBB has now been renamed the PTP.
